Autism Reading Comprehension GROUNDHOG DAY Adapted Book Activity - EASY TO ASSEMBLE!
As everyone eagerly awaits the start of Spring, we wait to see if Punxsutawney Phil casts his shadow. Here is an interactive story about the special day, along with some Fun Facts! Your students will enjoy reading or listening to each one to two sentence statement per page. With color coded text for comprehension clues and visual answer cards, this activity is perfect for all of your students! IEP Goals and a reproducible data sheet are included with this activity.
Suggested IEP Goals Aligned with Groundhog Day Interactive Activity Book:
• Given a topic with coded answers, a choice of answer cards, and up to two lines of text, STUDENT will choose the correct answer card, in 4 out of 5 consecutive opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
• Given a topic with up to two lines of text read by the teacher and visual and verbal prompts to help choose the correct answer card, STUDENT will attend to the task and repeat the answer or point to the answer, in 4 out of 5 consecutive opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
• Given visuals and color coded answers within up to two lines of text, STUDENT will find, say, or point to the correct answer, in 4 out of 5 consecutive opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
• Given visuals, verbal assistance, and a teacher-read story with large color-coded text to aid in comprehension, STUDENT will follow along and answer 3 comprehension questions, in 4 out of 5 consecutive opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
