Autism Social Skills and Language Development Communication Game/Reward System:
“An apple for the teacher!” Those words will soon be heard throughout your classroom! Using this game/reward system will bring out the best in your students. Encourage conversation and language skills in our students with autism and special needs, as the teacher enthusiastically receives an “apple compliment card”. Ask the student questions, promote their confidence, and get them talking! For our more complex learners, share a juicy red apple with a compliment and visual supports. For verbal students, those using a communication device, or for others who would like to write their very own “apple compliment” to the teacher, there are apples with lines for writing (black and white for easy reproduction) and yellow and green “compliment apples”. Watch as your students take an apple and “catch” the teacher doing something that deserves a compliment! Of course, in return, the teacher must say, “Thank you for the compliment!” and give the student an apple that says just that! Your students will collect 5 apples on their apple bushel collection board in exchange for a social activity! Choose playing a game or puzzle with a friend, 5 minutes of free “talk” time with a classmate, or social activity of his/her choice. Your class will love using this “Apple Game/Reward System”! EASY-TO-ASSEMBLE! Just print apples, bushel, and bushel student name plate, and laminate for durability. Enjoy in your classroom TODAY!
