Autism Speech Language Writing BUNDLE - WANTS and NEEDS Interactive Books! BRAND NEW ACTIVITY!
Autism: Autism WANTS and NEEDS Bundle!
It’s happened again. If I could show you the expression on my little guy’s face as he formed his first WANTS/NEEDS sentence – it was just priceless! He was so incredibly excited and wanted to complete not only 1 book, BUT three! That gave him 30 opportunities to answer “wh” and yes/no questions, describe the picture, determine if the situation in the picture portrayed a “want” or a “need”, all without him ever realizing he was working, helping him work on his IEP goals, and providing valuable data! This bundle contains 6 interactive, sentence building books (10 pages per book, 60 in all!), data sheet, suggested IEP goals, answer key, question prompts for the teacher to ask!
The use of real-life pictures provides the opportunity for easy recognition as to what is occurring in each picture. Diving a little deeper than your general list of needs and wants, the teacher prompts provide you with ideas on how to present the information and explore for more. Children can interpret wants and needs differently than adults. For example, if you had a student sitting at the top of the slide during recess, you may have found yourself saying, “You NEED to slide down!” You wouldn’t ask the child to walk back down the steps, right? In that child’s eyes, he NEEDS to slide down! With question prompts based on how our kids think, these activity books are sensational at getting the point across. Since some children may view a “want” as a “need”, I have included extra response cards.
IEP Goal Alignment:
Given a picture depicting a real-life situation, STUDENT will determine if it signifies a “want” or a “need” by choosing the correct response card with 80% accuracy, in 8 out of 10 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
Given a picture depicting a real-life situation, STUDENT will describe the picture by answering “wh” questions (who/what/where/when/why) with 80% accuracy, in 8 out of 10 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
**Thank you so very much for your continued support of autism awareness. A portion of the proceeds from this sale will be donated.**
