Practice counting up to 20 by identifying tens and ones, tens frame and answering, "How many?" by counting penguins. For review, assessment or IEP purposes, there are two worksheets to provide documentation of mastered skills or those in progress. The activity meets the Common Core Standards requirements for: COUNTING AND CARDINALITY K:05.CC:05 Count to answer "how many?" questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line, a rectangular array, or a circle, or as many as 10 things in a scattered configuration; given a number from 1-20, count out that many objects. NUMBER AND OPERATIONS IN BASE TEN Work with numbers 11-19 to gain foundations for place value. K:13.NBT:01 Compose and decompose numbers from 11-19 into ten ones and some further ones, e.g., by using objects or drawings, and record each composition or decomposition by a drawing or equation; understand that these numbers are composed of ten ones and one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine ones.
