Mystery Pictures – Halloween Edition are designed to help students learn how to count in numerical order and understand place value.

For beginning students: I print out a mystery picture in color and the corresponding black & white chart. I cut apart the color picture and have students glue it onto the black and white chart. This is a great way to have students still learn the 100 chart, but they may have difficulty with fine motor skills and being able to use the color key.

There are 8 mystery pictures.

Tasks can be for individual or small group work.

UPDATED: I added another picture so there are now 8 pictures plus a blank 100 chart to use with the pictures. Each mystery pictures has its own code page and filled in 100 chart.

Mystery Picture 1 – Jack O’ Lantern
Mystery Picture 2 - Frankenstein
Mystery Picture 3 – Witch’s hat
Mystery Picture 4 – Ghost
Mystery Picture 5 – Owl
Mystery Picture 6 – Bat with full moon
Mystery Picture 7 – Cat
Mystery Picture 8 – Boo
