HOW WILL HIGHLIGHTING EACH SENTENCE HELP MY STUDENTS?

When implementing in my classroom, I found some of my students really needed the extra help understanding the concept of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in terms of sequencing events. When I highlighted using three different colors (see Preview page) and then laminated the cards, it truly helped some of my kids “get it”. I also printed a second set without highlighting for my established readers. They can also learn to highlight each sentence themselves when completing the activity!


HOW DO I STORE THIS TASK CARD SET?

Oh, SO easy! I use a clear shoe box bin for storage and for my kids to use at Independent Task Centers, to work one-on-one with an assistant, or even for direct instruction. The bins store easily in your classroom cubbies, shelves, or even stack on top of a table or shelf. Each set contains an interchangeable bin label.


DOES THE TASK CARD SET COME WITH A SUGGESTED IEP GOAL?

Yes! This set comes with TWO suggested IEP goals. Please adapt prompt level to meet your students’ needs:


(1.) Given three sentences to read and a choice of three pictures depicting events or actions, STUDENT will choose the picture that shows the requested sequence as represented by 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.

(2.) Given three sentences to read and three different color highlighter markers, STUDENT will highlight the first sentence on color, and the second and third sentences different colors, in order to visually determine the sequence of events (1st/2nd/3rd), with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
