This resource can be used as:
A Visual Schedule: Place the appropriate visuals on the menu and take off as each step is accomplished.
A Social Story Starter: Discuss each visual that is appropriate for your child or write a mini-book and glue in the visuals.
Pretend Play: Assign a role, i.e., Child, Nurse, Doctor, Parent, to a stuffed animal/doll/child and use the other visuals to prompt story starters.
Role-Play: Set up a visual schedule on the menu page and take turns being the child in the story.
Use the Blank cards to:
* Write or draw in details that may be specific to your child’s doctor visit.
* Write or draw on to show an after-the-doctor treat such as going to the park, the library, or a play date.
