Autism - Autism FOLLOWING VISUAL DIRECTIONS December HOLIDAY Worksheets for Non-Readers with Data/IEP Goals
I was presented with a dilemma this year. There are several students in my class who rely too heavily on adult prompting to begin and complete a task. With acquiring skills to reach independence a key component in my K-3 Special Education classroom, I had to figure out a way that my students, as well as my colleague’s students, could gain these skills and generalize them to a work task. Well, folks, HERE IT IS!
This 50 page December holiday worksheet set works amazingly well for both readers and NON-READERS alike! The holiday theme includes things associated with Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kawanzaa. There are 11 mounting boards which include the repetitive prompts with visuals. Using pre-taught strategies to show what each picture/symbol means, your students will be able to complete these worksheets by following a set of visual directions: by choosing the correct color, count and circle the correct number up to 10 (with a few challenge worksheets included), circle a specific letter, and trace the word. Complete with a data sheet cover to record up to 5 opportunities per session to align with IEP goals, just remove and staple the completed worksheets for valuable data at your fingertips! Besides all of the independent functioning skills practice this provides, most important, your students will be incredibly proud of themselves as they work on their own!
IEP Goal Alignment:
Given a familiar work task (worksheet) with visual directions and up to 4 different steps which include color, mark, trace, STUDENT will independently begin a work task through completion, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 consecutive opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
