Beginning Letter Activity (6 pages) is great for literacy stations or as an activity for early finishers. It allows children to engage their pre-reading skills (phonemic awareness) by identifying beginning letter sounds of various images. It is also perfect for children with Autism and a Special Education classroom. Ask your students to clip the pin onto the card to show the answer that matches the picture.
The pages must be printed on photo paper and laminated. The cards with letters must be cut out.
The pictures included in this activity: cup, apple, dog, leaf, tree, swan, rose, ball, egg, acorn, fox, honey, iris, jug, kite, log, nut, owl, pear, robot, stool, watch, yarn, duck.
Given a picture of an object and a choice of up to three beginning sound letters, STUDENT will clip or mark the correct sound in order to spell the word, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
