Do you find yourself looking for ESY summer school materials with visual support to work towards your student’s IEP goals for reading or fine motor skills? This ESY summer school reading and fine motor worksheet set is a print and go activity with no prep required! There are two reading levels for students who have been previously taught early sight words (pre-k through first grade sight word lists) and are practicing this reading skill during ESY. Level A uses visuals and symbols for reading support, along with a picture to trace and color. Level B removes the visuals for independent reading practice. Each worksheet begins with the sentence, “I see a/the….” for reading confidence. All of the worksheets contain 5 sentences related to summer and school topics. DATA can be recorded in the right hand corner of each worksheet to share with parents, document for the school year teacher.

Perfect way to review early reading skills and sight words for an ESY supplement, homework, or extra practice in the classroom.

WHAT EXACTLY IS A “REVIEW PACKET FOR IEP GOALS”?

Each review packet contains “uncluttered” (less cutesy, distraction free) printables that are aligned with academic or social-emotional state standards. The skill sets are, in most instances, adapted to fit the learning needs of special education students. The Review Packets for IEP Goals are designed to encourage independent work practice for those who can, and additional support for those students who may need it. In time, we will includes every standard from Pre-Kindergarten through third grade. Special requests will be accepted for specific standards or grade levels. WHAT AGE OR GRADE LEVEL WOULD YOU SUGGEST THIS WORKSHEET PACKET FOR?

Although this IEP goal review packet is aligned with early elementary (K-2) Language Arts standards, it may support any learner who is currently being taught to read a complete sentence with visual support, or early readers who can identify sight words (high frequency words) for the K-1 grade level. As we know, our children all learn at their own pace and this resource is adaptable for students by using Level A for students who need a higher level of reading support.

HOW WILL THIS IEP GOAL REVIEW PACKET HELP MY STUDENT/CHILD?

This packet provides extra practice to supplement classroom lessons, summer review to prevent academic regression, independent work to support inclusion, reading resource, or early intervention. Each page can be printed and once completed, placed in a binder for the student to reread throughout the ESY summer session.

DOES THE IEP GOAL REVIEW PACKET COME WITH IEP GOALS?

YES! Here are suggested IEP goals which align with this packet:

READING

· Given up to 5 sentences containing previously taught vocabulary to read aloud with visual support, STUDENT will read the pre-taught sight words and nouns with 80% accuracy, within a 6 week period, as documented by teacher observation.


FINE MOTOR

· Given an object to trace related to a topic or them (summer/going to school in the summer), STUDENT will trace along dashed lines with proper grasp and control, to complete the drawing (trace and color), with prompts (verbal, words of praise for motivation, hand-over-hand) as needed during a teacher/therapist guided activity, within a 6 week period.


LANGUAGE AND SPEECH

· Given sentences to read related to a topic or theme (summer/going to school in the summer) with visual support to read aloud to an adult (teacher/therapist), STUDENT will respond to ___(# of) WH questions as asked by the teacher/therapist, within a 6 week period, as documented by teacher/therapist.
