This IEP goal skill builder worksheet packet focuses on staying on topic during the writing process and including key details, main idea, opinions, and predictions. This IEP Goal Skill Builder writing picture prompt packet is adapted for students in grade level 1st-5th and above, learning about writing sentences and staying on topic using key details, main topic, and write thoughts and opinions in a cohesive order based upon grade level and writing skill level. Each worksheet includes two picture choices to write about and data collection for the teacher to gather IEP goal information.

(2.) Given a choice of two picture topic prompts which may include people, places, and/or objects in order to generate an idea for writing a story, STUDENT will choose one topic and verbally provide up to four details, predictions, or opinions related to the topic, to organize thoughts and ideas to compose sentences, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
(3.) Given a picture and a “picture walk-through” led by an adult or peer, STUDENT will reveal real or presumed details about the picture based upon observation, prior knowledge, or personal experiences, in order to write up to ____(number of) on topic sentences, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
(4.) Given two picture topic prompts which may include people, places, and/or objects to aid in independently generating ideas to compose on-topic sentences, STUDENT will compare the people, places, or objects by writing descriptive on-topic sentences, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
