These easy-to-use Line Up Floor Guides represent the symbol for a boy and a girl. Our special needs students respond well to routine and order. By placing in the pattern to suit your class roster, your student will learn to follow your request and stand on the “boy” or “girl” symbol as the class lines up to transition.
Is this easy to set up in my classroom?
It’s easier than easy! Just PRINT (do not trim), LAMINATE and TAPE to the classroom floor where you will have the children line up as they prepare to leave the classroom.
Will this help get the kids in line and help them stay there?
While I wish I had a magic wand (or could offer an extra set of hands), the LINE UP FLOOR GUIDES are the next best thing! In my classroom this year, I had two children who would try to push and shove their way to being “first”. When I used the Line Up Floor Guides, it miraculously helped eliminate the issue. They were so focused on finding their own special spot that it no longer mattered to them. This set includes a Line Leader and Door Holder placement, too.
All of your products come with IEP Goals. Do you have one for this, too?
Of course! Here are the suggested IEP Goals in the domain of Independent Functioning.
(1.) Given a verbal directive to “line up” in a designated place in line with peers in order to transition out of the classroom to another location within the school, STUDENT will walk to the line and stand in the designated place in line, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
(2.) Given a verbal directive to “line up” in a designated place in line with peers, STUDENT will independently walk to the place in line with hands down by his/her side, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
What age group can this be used for?
This set of Line Up Floor Guides is intended for elementary school age children.
