Understanding Sales Tax, Store Sales, Coupons and Tips is a unit with a provided PowerPoint to teach key concepts and content, a text/story, and activities. This unit is designed for students with intellectual disabilities and autism but can be used in general education elementary grades or ELL.

This Unit introduces sales tax, sales, coupons, and tipping with a 20-slide PowerPoint slide show and a 14-page text/story with leveled Pre-Post Tests. There are also many worksheets and activities to further explain the topics of sales tax, sales, coupons, and tips.

This unit provides opportunities for repetition in the classroom, which is essential for students with intellectual disabilities, as well as the use of visuals.

Activities included: Vocabulary and Definition Match, Calculating Sales Tax Mixed %, Shopping and Sales Tax (Practice calculating 7%, 7.5%, 8%, 9%, and 10%), checking if sales tax is correct, taking off a discount, tipping, using coupons and more.
