SUGGESTED IEP GOALS For Special Education Students:

LEVEL 1: (High Level of Support Provided) Given up to ______(5) activity cards with basic shapes (circle, square, rectangle, triangle, star), STUDENT will identify the shape by matching the card showing the same shape, given (verbal/visual/guided hand) prompts as needed along with guidance by the teacher/educational support professional, to achieve 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.

LEVEL 2: (Less Support Provided) Given up to 10 activity cards with basic shapes (circle, square, rectangle, triangle, star, octagon, hexagon, trapezoid, heart, crescent), STUDENT will identify the shape by matching the card showing the same shape, given words of encouragement as needed (ex. “keep going”, “good matching”, etc.) to achieve 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.

LEVEL 3: (Independent) Given a picture or drawing of a shape, STUDENT will match to identify the same shape by word label (ex. “This is a circle.”). with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
