LIFE SKILLS Work Task Basket - Reading Nutrition Labels and Matching for Special Education:
Students will learn to recognize how many calories some of their favorite food items have, by reading or matching nutrition labels, or reading a nutrition food fact card. Using real life pictures to keep students on task and focused for both Level 1 (non-readers) and Level 2 (readers), they will use reading or matching skills and be happy doing it!
This Life Skills Work Task Basket includes:
• 25 Real-Life Food Task Cards
• 50 Matching Response Cards (Level 1 Non-Readers/Level 2 Readers or to be able to recognize text)
• 25 Real-Life Nutrition Label Facts Cards for comparing nutrients and attributes
• 5 worksheets to complement the task
• IEP Goal suggestions
SUGGESTED IEP GOAL ALIGNMENT:
Given two foods to compare, STUDENT will describe up to three attributes (taste, texture, and shape) by using a personal experience or knowledge, in written or verbal form, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
Given a work task related to a life skill which requires reading words to match a picture, or matching picture to picture, STUDENT will independently complete the activity within allotted amount of time, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
