This is a great activity for working with students with autism and other special needs. After teaching students different categories in small and whole group settings place this task in an independent work area. Learning categories is critical to language development. You can find different flashcard sets and activities in my store.
The 20 categories included are
body parts, farm animals, zoo animals, ocean animals, transport, furniture, fruits, drinks, clothes, footwear, school accessories, kitchen tools,
bathroom accessories, toys, insects, letters, numbers, food, vegetables, and flowers.
There are 12 pages to be printed and laminated. Cut out the boards and the cards with words. Use hook and loop dots in the middle of each blanc square on the boards and on the backside of each card.
Given three pictures related to a topic or theme, STUDENT will choose the correct category by saying what the category is (ex. food), or selecting the correct vocabulary card, with 80% accuracy, in 4 out of 5 opportunities, by MONTH, YEAR.
