Our CVC Words with Pictures READING STRATEGY SPELL and READ Task Cards for Independent Work Baskets will increase your students' word recognition skills and build confidence, too! An excellent independent work task for students with autism, special learning needs, and young learners!
With real life pictures and easily identifiable objects for young learners, ELL students, those with autism or special learning needs, your students will match, clip, mark with a dry erase marker, point to, say, or show on a voice output device, C-V-C words (consonant-vowel-consonant) and their correct spelling.
This independent work basket set contains 40 real life pictures of objects representing simple C-V-C words, along with two response options. One response is spelled correctly, while the other is a jumble of, or reversal of the letters in the word. Many times young learners or those with special learning needs, scan the word, which provides a “sounding out dilemma”. When they can visually see the difference, students most often select the correct spelling option. This has turned into an amazing tool for my struggling readers!
This set also comes with a label to velcro or tape onto the clear work bin. I use velcro so I can switch tasks frequently for my students to complete independently.
I DO USE velcro on each task card, but students can also mark with a dry erase marker (“X”), or clip with a clothespin or large paper clip!
